Creeper World 3: Abraxis Walkthrough & Strategy Guide
Welcome, Commander! Creeper World 3: Abraxis is a unique RTS tower defense game where the enemy is a living fluid called Creeper. It flows, spreads, and adapts. Your mission: build energy networks, deploy blasters, and use terrain elevation to push back the blue tide. This guide covers core mechanics, early game survival tips, advanced tactics like terraforming and mortar placement, and a walkthrough for the first few planets. Whether you're a newcomer or a veteran, these strategies will help you save humanity.
Basic Controls & Mechanics
The game revolves around two resources: energy and energy cells. Energy is generated by collectors placed on the map. Energy cells are produced by collectors and are used to build structures. You can also find pre-existing collectors on some maps. The Creeper is a blue fluid that flows downhill and spreads across the map. It damages your structures and units. Your main defense are blasters, which shoot energy bolts to destroy Creeper. Mortars can target Creeper from a distance. Relays extend your energy network, and emitters can be used to create temporary walls or terraform.
Right-click to move the camera, scroll to zoom. Left-click to select structures or units. The toolbar at the bottom lets you build collectors, blasters, mortars, relays, and more. Press 'B' to bring up the build menu. You can also use number keys for quick build. The minimap shows Creeper density and your structures. Pay attention to elevation lines—Creeper flows downhill, so building on high ground is safer.
Early Game Strategy: Surviving the First Wave
Your first priority is energy. Build at least two collectors near your starting area, ideally on high ground. Connect them with relays to form a network. Next, build a blaster near the collector to defend against the initial Creeper flow. The Creeper will start spreading from the edges or from a source on the map. Watch the minimap to see where it's coming from.
Do not expand too fast. Focus on securing a small area first. Build a mortar to target Creeper clusters from a safe distance. Mortars are especially useful for clearing Creeper that is pooling in low areas. Upgrade your collectors to produce more energy cells. You can upgrade by clicking on a collector and spending 10 energy cells. Upgraded collectors produce faster.
Terrain Tactics: Using Elevation to Your Advantage
Creeper flows like water: it always seeks the lowest point. Use this to your advantage. Build walls of relays or emitters to channel the Creeper into kill zones. Emitters can be set to 'repel' mode, which pushes Creeper away, or 'attract' mode, which pulls it. Repel emitters are great for protecting your base. Attract emitters can herd Creeper into a valley where mortars can destroy it.
Terraforming is key on many maps. You can use the 'terraform' tool (requires energy cells) to raise or lower terrain. Raising terrain creates barriers that Creeper cannot cross unless it fills the area. Lowering terrain creates channels that funnel Creeper. Use terraforming to create a moat around your base, then fill it with Creeper and mortar it. On maps with high elevation differences, build your base on the highest point and let gravity work against the Creeper.
Advanced Combat: Blaster, Mortar, and Emitter Placement
Blasters are your bread and butter. They have a range and fire rate. Place them on high ground to cover more area. Multiple blasters can focus fire on a single Creeper spot. Mortars have a longer range and area damage, but they are slow. Use mortars to clear large Creeper pools or to target Creeper sources. Emitters can be used offensively: set an emitter to 'attract' near a blaster cluster to draw Creeper into the line of fire.
For tough Creeper sources (like Creeper spores that spawn new Creeper), use a combination of mortars and blasters. First, mortar the source to reduce its health, then let blasters finish it. You can also build a 'Creeper pump' (available later) to suck up Creeper and convert it into energy. This is risky but powerful. Always have a repair team (Engineers) ready to fix damaged structures.
Resource Management: Energy Cells and Collectors
Energy cells are the currency of the game. You earn them from collectors over time. Each collector produces 1 cell per second (upgraded: 2). You start with a small amount. Prioritize building collectors early. On maps with few buildable spots, you may need to expand aggressively. Use the 'scanner' to reveal the map and find extra collectors or energy nodes.
Don't hoard energy cells. Spend them on upgrades and new structures. A common mistake is building too many blasters early, leaving no cells for collectors. A balanced ratio is 2 collectors per blaster in the early game. Later, you can adjust. Also, consider building relays to extend your network to new collector spots. Relays are cheap and can be placed on any terrain.
Walkthrough: Planet 1 - Abraxis Prime
This is a tutorial-like map. Start by building two collectors on the small plateau to your left. Connect them with a relay. Then build a blaster near the right edge to defend against the first Creeper trickle. The Creeper source is a spore at the bottom right. Build a mortar on the high ground to the left and target the spore. It will take a few shots. Meanwhile, build more collectors to increase income. Once the spore is destroyed, the Creeper will stop flowing. Mop up remaining Creeper with blasters.
After clearing the map, you'll unlock the next planet. Tips: Don't build on low ground—Creeper will flood it. Use the terrain to your advantage. This map is easy, but later maps require more aggressive expansion.
Walkthrough: Planet 2 - The Floodplains
This map has multiple Creeper sources. Start by building collectors on the high ground in the center. Build a ring of blasters around your base. There are three spore sources: one at the top left, one at the bottom right, and one in the middle left. They will send waves of Creeper. Use mortars to take out the sources one by one. Focus on the closest source first. Build relays to connect to new areas.
Terraforming is useful here: raise the land around your base to create a wall. Creeper will pool at the base of the wall, where you can mortar it. Once all spores are destroyed, clean up. This map teaches you multi-tasking and prioritization.
